Nix Action Image

A Nix OCI image builder for Forgejo Actions.

Tags

Every published tag exists as a multi-architecture index and as one tag per architecture, so a single architecture stays pullable for debugging:

Index	amd64	arm64
`latest`	`latest-x86_64-linux`	`latest-aarch64-linux`
`nixos-<version>`	`nixos-<version>-x86_64-linux`	`nixos-<version>-aarch64-linux`

<version> is the lib.version of the nixpkgs revision the image is built from, so the versioned tags change whenever flake.lock is updated.

Images are published to docker.io and git.trin.one.

Usage

Built with nlewo/nix2container.

# Test image
nix run .#packages.x86_64-linux.default.copyToPodman
podman run -it docker.io/hpcesia/nix-act-image:latest

# Publish the indexes and per-arch tags to every registry
nix run .#publish

# Print the commands instead of running them
DRY_RUN=1 nix run --impure .#publish
